Moving day (for Blaine)

The summer had been a bit hectic. It had been filled mostly with work and getting ready for Oxford and dealing with losing Hector. It was odd not to be around the other boys all the time and to know that he wasn't going to see all of them again in September.

By the time he was actually moving in, it hardly seemed real. His parents had come down to help him move everything in, including the brand-new typewriter they'd bought him to celebrate his scholarship. They'd left him to go check into their hotel, planning on staying the night in Oxford, meeting him for breakfast the next day and heading back to Sheffield after that.

He's just taking his last few boxes down the hall to unload them in his room.

Blaine's parents were still in the city as well, but they had left to go have dinner. He had been invited but he had opted to stay and get settled in. He already had his stuff moved but he was checking out a couple things on the grounds when he saw a familiar shape.

"Need help with those?" he asked David, coming up to greet him with a smile.

"Oh, cheers," David says before turning properly and seeing who it is.

"Blaine! Hello." He grins and sets down his boxes to give him a hug.

Blaine returns the hug and rubs David's back lightly. "Hi. How was your summer?"

"Torturously long," David says, smiling as he pulls back and picks up his boxes again. "How was yours?"

"About the same," Blaine admits as he moves to take some of the boxes. "I'm happy to be here, finally."

"So am I," David says, and between the two of them, they manage to get the rest of his boxes.

Blaine follows David. "I think we're on the same floor," he says when he realizes where David's room is.

"Are we?" David grins at that. "That's brilliant."

"It will make it easy for me to teach you how to play the guitar," he points out, smiling.

David laughs at that. "Oh, yes. I may have to invest in one of my own, then."

"If you do let me go with you so I can make sure you get a good one."

"I will. I'd be lost on my own, I'm sure."

"And I'll be happy to share my knowledge with you."

"Brilliant," David says, moving some boxes to make room for Blaine to sit.

"How are you settling in?"

Blaine takes the seat with a thankful smile. "I think it's been going okay. My parents are still in town. To be honest, I can't wait until I'm on my own."

"I feel the same. But...it makes me feel a bit guilty that I do."

He moves a suitcase off his bed to make room for himself to sit as well.

Blaine shakes his head. "Don't be. It's natural that you would leave."

David shrugs. "I still feel a bit bad."

His parents rather dote on him.

"You can always go back and visit?"

so, i'm not watching hell on wheels, but chris heyerdahl and the guy who plays worth are in it?

"Yes, I'm sure I will when I get the chance," David agrees, smiling a bit.

i dunno? I haven't seen hell on wheels either!

"It will be much easier for you than me," he says, smiling a bit.

they were both in the preview during walking dead last night

"True. Are you worried about that?"

huh. i should be watching for that i think...

Blaine shakes his head. "I think I'd rather spend my breaks visiting London or Paris."

yeah, i wasn't intrigued by it until i saw that

"You don't plan on going home at all?"

the thing a couple good actors can do for a show...
